Live jazz, a drum circle, shops filled with books and art, Creole and Caribbean smells. What could be better on a Saturday afternoon?
How about fresh flowers and organic vegetables?
Hana Hwang, th LA Vegetarian Examiner
found all that and more on a Saturday at the Leimert Park Village Farmers Market.
What really surprised her is that no one was there.
“Such a nice day, but where is everyone? Did we come too late in the afternoon?” Hana asks. "Perhaps…but let me share with you about this hidden gem in the southwest part of Los Angeles; the Leimert Park Village Farmer’s Market."
The story has great pictures and a some must-try items: SuperSalads2Go lale salad consisting of organic kale, cranberries, pine nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, and red peppers tossed in a light organic dressing. Fresh juices like Strawberry Ginger or Ginger Lemonade. Different flavors of cane juice.
She finishes with her own plea on behalf of our community: "Be sure to show some love and support and stop by Leimert Park Village Farmer’s Market from 10am-3pm; a perfect way to start off your Saturday afternoon."
Make a pledge to support your local businesses and spend some time in the village.
