The LAPD and liquor store owners will talk with residents about eliminating loitering, illegal activity and litter that affects us all in Leimert Park.
6:30 pm, Tuesday, March 25th, 4343 Leimert Blvd. (Next to Vision Theater)
A few months ago my wife saw a man just after he was shot at the store on King and Arlington. Terrible thing to see.
There are more than six liquor stores in our neighborhood - a liquor store at each major gateway to Leimert Park:
King Blvd and Arlington Ave
Leimert Blvd and King Blvd
43 St. and Leimert Blvd
Stocker St. and Crenshaw
6th Ave and Vernon Ave
39th St. and Crenshaw
It wouldn't be that hard for these places to be a service to nearby residents. Wouldn't it be great if at least one of them had a little deli to buy sandwiches, a different selection or some vegetables and non-fat milk? But for the most part if you want anything more than gum or alcohol, you have to got to the market.
