Living History Tour 2016
Making A Difference: The Bumpy Road Toward Civil Rights, Social Justice and Equality
History Comes to Life...at the 26th annual Living History Tour at Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, with costumed actors, at graveside, portraying historic personages in one of L.A.’s oldest cemeteries. This year, you’ll learn about the compelling lives of a group of individuals who, each in his or her own way, reflects America’s journey toward social justice and equality for all. Portrayals include: a well-known suffragette who gave speeches across the state; an attorney who argued for equality in the armed services; a developer of a resort town nicknamed the “Black Palm Springs;” a Japanese-American whose family was sent to a relocation camp in 1942, along with a lawyer who lobbied against these internments; a founding elder of the oldest black church in Los Angeles; and one of the original owners of the Dunbar Hotel on Central Avenue.
Tickets by advance reservation only
$30 general admission (children under 10 free)
After Sept. 12 all tickets are $35
This is a 2-3 hour walking tour over uneven terrain; please wear comfortable shoes.
