CAKE FOR KING/CAAM’S Annual ‘Open House’ Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has become a tradition at CAAM that includes our diverse community. For the eighth year, CAAM hosts its ‘Cake for King’ celebration – a community “open house” during which we invite all of Los Angeles to visit our galleries and participate in an engaging slate of programs and workshops. This special day includes a screening of The Mighty Times: The Children’s March; a live reading of My Brother Martin by actor Babe Evans, and a community art project guided by artist and teacher Teresa Tolliver. The affirmations of life and words of wisdom will be shared by motivational speaker Billionaire PA in his presentation for teens entitled I Speak Dreams into Existence. The day will culminate with servings of birthday cake for all present and while supplies last. CAAM is located at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA 90037.
