| Kwanzaa! is an evening of dance and music featuring the children of Lula Washington Dance Theatre, along with the international touring dance ensemble. Guest artists include blues singer Barbara Morrison; Sax phenomenon Kamasi Washington; and reknown Marcus L. Miller with Freedom Jazz Movement. The concerts begin at 7 pm Thursday Dec. 29 and Friday, Dec. 30 inside the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center. Tickets on sale at Lula Washington Dance Theater: 323-292-5852. Email: school.lwdt@gmail.com. VIP tickets are $100 for people who will join LWDT's Ujamaa Circle. Proceeds from VIP tickets support scholarships for youth dancers at LWDT. VIP ticket holders get priority seating and early entry into the theater. They also get to attend a pre-concert reception that begins each night at 6 pm. | |
