Honoring Dr. King has become a family tradition in our community. Every MLK holiday, CAAM kicks off the day by partaking in the annual Kingdom Day Parade starting at 9 a.m. Following the parade, join CAAM for a slice of birthday Cake for King as long as the great tasty treat baked by Nooks and Grannies last. Program activities throughout the day will include, a presentation of the winners of the MLK essays for the City of Los Angeles, documentary screening of “King: Man of Peace in a Time of War,” stories in the gallery with Babe and Art Evans reading, “My Brother Martin” written by Christine King Farris, and a writing and journal decorating workshop. This event is free and open to the public. CAAM is located at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, 90037.
