As a part of its ongoing efforts to inform and educate the community on ways of adapting healthier behaviors, and providing preventive services, All Peoples Community Center will be hosting its 14^th Annual Community Health, Resource & Book Fair on March 26, 2011.     

The fair, which will include free health screenings and fun activities for the entire family will be held from 10 am to 2 pm. everyone in the Los Angeles area is invited to come and participate.  Admission and services are free to all! This year’s theme is, A B C’s of a Healthy Lifestyle! Live an Active life, Balance your Lifestyle, and Take Control of your Health!

In the last 13 years, our health fair attendance has grown from 300 to almost 1,300 participants in 2010.  We hope this year’s event will be as successful as years prior.

The event will feature more than 50 exhibits including Scholastic Books, agencies clinics and health mobile units will be on hand to discuss everything from diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, and immunization.

The economic crises and loss of jobs has a significant impact on the need for more health care screenings, prevention services and the understanding of higher education.  “Families have fewer resources available and no health insurance." said Saundra Bryant, Executive Director of All Peoples Christian Center.  “Screening, early intervention and awareness are important, and we hope community residents will come out and take advantage of all of the free services that our fair has to offer.”
