CAAM’s Contemporary exhibition Curvature features artists Michael Kilgore and Anthony “Eve” Kemp, whose artistic styles include Fauvism, Expressionism and Cubism. CAAM invites the media and community to sit in on a discussion between CAAM’s Visual Arts Curator Vida L. Brown and Artist June Emond as they discuss the artworks of well-known African American artists whose works embrace the styles and elements defined in Cubism.
Curvature is ongoing at CAAM through January 19, 2014. The exhibition presents the expressive, figurative illustrations of the two emerging artists, Michael Kilgore and Anothy “Eve” Kemp. The varied artworks of bold and simplistic lines to colorful and detailed patterns and shapes celebrate elements of history, physical features and family connections, often associated with African Americans or in the lives of artists.
This event is free and open to the public. To RSVP call (213) 744-2024 and for more info visit www.caamuseum.org. Find CAAM on Twitter and Facebook at www.twitter.com/CAAMinLA and www.facebook.com/CAAMinLA.
