The Office of Zoning Administration looks like it might a revoke the liquor license for the Liquor Bank.

The prominent liquor store on the corner of Stocker and Crenshaw is a bit of an icon because of it's towering green sign, location and it's claim that it's not a bank.

But according to the city, there are allegations and LAPD reports that says there are too many reports of drinking in public, sale of alcoholic beverages to a minor, attempted robbery, battery, narcotics sales/use, gang activity, counterfeit goods sales location and blighted property conditions.

That's a mouthful.

Not the first time liquor stores in Leimert Park have been an issue. In March 2008, LAPD and liquor store owners talked with residents about eliminating loitering, illegal activity and litter that affects us all in Leimert Park. This was a few months ago my wife saw a man just after he was shot at the store on King and Arlington. Terrible thing to see

There are more than six liquor stores in our neighborhoods - a liquor store at each major gateway to Leimert Park.
