On Friday, July 10, stop by Union Station’s East Portal by the fish tank between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., to check out a few businesses participating in Metro’s new Eat, Shop, Play Local campaign. Visitors may purchase unique merchandise and will receive a free tote bag with each transaction. non-Metro employees can even enter to win cash prizes in the next Quarterly Drawing on October 1, 2015.
This Vendor Day event is part of Metro’s effort to promote businesses currently impacted by construction of its three rail projects (Crenshaw/LAX, Regional Connector and Purple Line Extension). The business participants include representatives from each project-area: Leimert Park Art Walk/Vision Theatre (Crenshaw), where you can find t-shirts, cultural gifts and information about upcoming events. Phone House (Little Tokyo) will bring cell phone accessories, Bluetooth speakers and fun electronic gadgets and Dysonna City Art Gallery (Wilshire) will display beautiful art and photos
Eat, Shop, Play Local is a promotional campaign to minimize the construction impact to small business in neighborhoods where heavy transit construction takes place. For more information visit: http://www.metro.net/interactives/html/eatshopplay/
