For those who have not yet participated in CicLAvia, it is a celebration of community and mobility, and temporarily repurposes city streets for bike and pedestrian use. Originating in traffic-congested Bogotá, Columbia, CicLAvia first arrived in Los Angeles in 2010. The April 21st event, "To The Sea," will be the 6th event. Over 100,000 Angelenos participated in the last CicLAvia, and "To The Sea" is set to be the most ambitious yet: providing a car-free route from Downtown Los Angeles to Venice Beach.
All are invited to join the group "feeder" ride from Leimert Park up Crenshaw to Venice Boulevard. The group ride will provide additional visibility for novice riders, families, and experienced riders alike. The ride will meet at 9:30 AM on Sunday, April 21st, at Leimert Park (Vernon Ave. between Crenshaw Blvd. and Leimert Ave.).
