Kale Gratin Supreme
Serves 6-8 (As a side dish)
INGREDIENTS
3 Medium or 2 large bunches kale, de-stemmed and torn into bite size pieces
½ tsp. Ground nutmeg
3 cups Heavy cream
8 ounces Sharp cheddar cheese, cut in medium- thick slices
½ tsp. Sea salt
½ tsp. Freshly ground black pepper
Method:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
the kale in a 9x13 inch baking pan, or a larger size pan.
Season the kale with nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste, use your hands to stir and combined these ingredients well, drizzle the cream evenly over the kale and spread the cheese slices over the top of the mixture.
Place the kale dish on a larger baking sheet to catch the drippings from the gratin during the baking process.
Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, the cream should thicken and the cheese should reach a nice golden brown .
It is alright if the outer sides of the kale are a little crisp, and it makes a for better texture in the gratin.
Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes, before serving.
