The Juneteenth Heritage Festival in Los Angeles is Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and June 19 in the parking lot of Vision Theater in Leimert Park, the corner of 43rd and Degnan.

There will be line dancing, square dancing, arts and crafts, plenty of good food plus lots of live entertainment - and I hear from Gail Jennings - lots of Texans. She says "Come find out how you can make Juneteenth a National Holiday." New this year -Black Arts Los Angeles in association with Africa House introduces the Ancestral Rock Garden.
Admission is free and the festivities are from 10am to 6pm.
And don't forget the drums!
