The theatrics of Broadway is coming to the California African American Museum (CAAM) during their Target Sundays program, Broadway Bound, on Sunday, May 6, 2012, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The event co-hosted by two-time Obie Award winner, Charlayne Woodard and actor Jeffrey Anderson-Gunter will feature veteran actors, singers and dancers of Broadway and an art workshop, hosted by local artist and educator Teresa Tolliver, beginning at noon.

Many of the performers have been featured in on Broadway and touring productions including Lacy Darryl Phillips (aka Uncle Earl), actor, dancer, choreographer, who appeared in “Sophisticated Ladies” and “Dancin” and choreographed the national tour of “The Wiz.”   Also performing will be Laurnea Wilkerson from The Wiz who made her debut on Broadway at a young age and then became a member of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra. Wilkerson went on to join the UK’s pop/R&B hit making group, Loose Ends, as a vocalist and thereafter joined the sensational rap/hip-hop group, Arrested Development.
