Culver City Times
Periodically, I post a picture of something in Culver City that is 'hiding in plain sight.' Last week I asked: Do you know where in Culver City this sign is?…
The Los Angles City Board of Public Works will take up the Shuttle Parade debate on Monday Sept. 17. Click for AGENDA, The 9:30 a.m. meeting is at Edward R. Roybal BPW Session Room, Room 350, City Hall, 200 North Spring Street.
The California Science Center will move the space shuttle Endeavour from LAX to Expo Park up Crenshaw then east on MLK. Hundreds of trees will be removed and the Science Center has agreed to replace them 2 to 1. The Empowerment Congress West Area Neighborhood Council has taken the lead to get more concessions and more mitigation from the city and the Science Center. But it's important your voice be heard on the matter.
The Public Works Commission will hear a presentation from the Science Center and hear the public speak before voting on the permit for the removal of the 253 in Los Angeles to accommodate the transport of the Space Shuttle Endeavor.
A free bus to the meeting will leave from the parking lot of 3731 Stocker St, Los Angeles, 90008 promptly at 8:30AM.
Lark Galloway-Gilliam, president of the area's neighborhood council (which meets Monday night) also sent this updated (and apparently much reduced) list of trees to be removed:
