Since the article kinda meanders out of Leimert Park's boundaries... Also good are Melachia's Savory Meals on La Brea (in the old Baldwin Theatre retail complex @ Coliseum/La Brea), CJ's Coffee Shop on La Brea (for credible soul food, since Mama's Place is sadly no more), & Float Cafe at the Baldwin Hills Farmers Market on Saturdays.
PS: Creole Chef is doing Fat Tuesday at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church.
