Like an old friend
Faithful, Steadfast until the end
Only bringing to the beginning again
At last, Here again
As the days descend
Across the keys of my Flute
A melody haunting, joyous, bittersweet
Awaiting a listening ear, an attentive heart,
A sensitive soul, liberated beyond the world's…

An on-site garden. A wood-burning oven. At the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza mall!
Dinner anyone?
This what we've been waiting for - a locally owned, sit-down restaurant in our neighborhood!
Post & Beam is slated to open late this year, offering the kind of cuisine (California-style comfort food) and ambiance rarely found in our immediate area. The 2,500 square foot restaurant will have outdoor patio seating, an open-hearth broiler, and the planting of an on-site herb…

Loan Modification Scammers can take your money and your home if you’re not cautious and well-informed. Anyone can be a victim-but you don’t have to be.

2. GUARANTEES that they’ll stop a foreclosure or modify a loan
3. Tells you to STOP PAYING your mortgage company and to pay them instead
Know the signs. Get the facts. Call the Los Angeles Urban…

At 71 the long term memory gets better & the short term less. For years I have maintained that I thought Steve Wonders first live recording of Fingertips part 1 was recorded live at the 54 ballroom?

Just sending a "RAVE" to the Rave Cinema chain for bringing a first class movie experience to Baldwin Hills. My wife and I are Seniors and we go regularly to the matinees at $4.50....can't beat that with a stick as the ol' folks used to say.:-) I don't know about the evening and nightime crowds, but we have had absolutely no problems with noise or rowdiness during the movies we watched. I appreciate the pricing for students as well as for us seniors. Any other OPINIONS OUT THERE??? Let me…

Helicopter noise in Los Angeles is now in the national spotlight, leading to a story in the New York Times about the introduction of federal legislation to require the FAA to establish rules on flight paths and minimum altitudes over residential areas.

I had the opportunity to attend the Taste of Soul yesterday and it was buzzing and beautiful! With my 2-year old strapped to my chest, Kingston and I took in the sights, sounds and tantalizing aromas of the event.
The usual vendors were "in the house" but because I do not eat meat, I kept searching for that one lone tent for us Herbivore's. You guessed it, there was none.
I was however, handed flyers promoting "wonder" pills that could magically treat prostate cancer, high…

Last weekend my family went to see THUNDER SOUL. Presented by Jamie Foxx, this joyful movie follows the extraordinary alumni from Houston’s storied Kashmere High School Stage Band, who return home after 35 years to play a tribute concert for the 92-year-old “Prof,” their beloved band leader who broke the color barrier and transformed the school’s struggling jazz band into a world-class funk powerhouse in the early 1970s.
This is an…
