The lady in the center is Margaret Melton, a native of Los Angeles and Graduate of Manual Arts High in 1942 and my mother. An accomplished jazz and swing dancer of the 1940s, she danced with all of the greats:Billie Holiday. Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, et al. and at such Venues as The Cotton Club, Apollo Theatre and Club Congo. This photo is in Tom Reed's Book, 'The Black Music History of Los Angeles'
