Kingdom Come - A monumental celebration of The Dream. Martin Luther King Day Parade and Festival in Leimert Park on Monday

What a year to remember the promise that Martin Luther King fought, and ultimately, died for.

This is the 24th national holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,.

This was one day before the inauguration of Barack Obama, a definite legacy of the great Civil Rights leader.

ABC7 will broadcast the annual Kingdom Day Parade on Monday at 11 a.m. But everyone should come down and witness what is sure to be a celebration to remember.

Parade festivities kick off at 10:15 a.m.

Afterward the celebration continues with the MLK Gospel Celebration in Leimert Park Village, the area's downtown that is filled with resaurants, shops, performance spaces and JAZZ. That is at the nexus of Crenshaw and Leimert Park Boulevard, known to the peeps as 43rd St. and Degnan.

Check the map for the parade route and street closures associated w.... The street closures will be in effect from 5:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

If you've still have then energy after the festivities, it's a free day on Monday at the LA County Art Museum for everyone in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr's. Birthday.

Thanks for Kayte Deioma for the photo of the Crenshaw High School Marching Band.
