Event Description
More than 70,000 are expected to line the route which begins at Normandie, heads down King, left on Crenshaw to Leimert Park Village.
Get there around 10 to get in the front row where King and Leimert Boulevard merge. The stands at King and Crenshaw fill up by 9. But there's room everywhere.
KABC will broadcast live for two hours.
Stevie Wonder, Louis Gosset Jr. and more will be there.
The parade is lead by a long eared mule drawing an empty buck wagon with empty shoes at the end of the buckwagon in King's memory.
The celebration in Leimert Park Village after the parade continues into the night.
County Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas is the
grand marshal.

In addition to dozens of the best high school bands in the regions, the LAUSD all city band will make a rare appearance.
