Event Description
In honor of African-American History Month the Committee to Elect Jackie Lacey for District Attorney in 2012 is hosting a fundraiser. You will have buffet dinner and meet Jackie Lacey, an African American woman who is a high ranking member of the District Attorney's Office. She is running for District Attorney of Los Angeles County in 2012. http://jackielacey.com
You will also view the award winning independent film entitled "Barakumentary." The film documents a young man's personal journey from Los Angeles (Leimert Park) to Washington, D. C., in January 2009, to witness the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. The film won an award at a New York Independent Film festival but has never been shown in Los Angeles. The film makers will be present to introduce the film.
